BUYER
The individual or legal entity who creates an account at https://legalenglishtr.com and places an order, providing their name, surname and email address at checkout. "Buyer" and "consumer" refer to the same person throughout this agreement.
The Buyer confirms that the details given at checkout are accurate and current, and accepts responsibility for the consequences of any error or omission in them.
Article 2 — Subject of the Agreement
This agreement sets out the rights and obligations of the parties in relation to the sale and delivery of the digital content products ordered by the Buyer through the Seller's website at https://legalenglishtr.com or the Legal English TR mobile application, in accordance with Turkish Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers and the Distance Contracts Regulation.
Everything sold under this agreement is digital content delivered electronically. Nothing is shipped: there is no physical delivery and no printed material.
Article 3 — Products and Prices
The Seller offers the products below. What governs each order is the product, price and access period shown in the order summary at the moment of purchase.
3.1. Legal English Training Set
- Price: TRY 11,990 (VAT included) — one-time payment
- Access period: 1 (one) year (365 days) from the date of purchase — the same period for the video lessons, the study document, the dictionary and premium access in the mobile app
- What it includes: pre-recorded video lessons, premium access in the mobile app, the study document and the legal English dictionary in PDF (the dictionary is supplied only as part of this set and is not sold separately)
- Where it is available: the website and the Legal English TR mobile app (premium access in the app is included in the price)
- Prerequisites: none — no particular English level is required
- Certificate: a certificate of participation is issued on completion
3.2. Premium App Subscription (monthly / yearly)
- Price: TRY 349.99 per month on the monthly plan, TRY 1,999.99 per year on the yearly plan (VAT included) — recurring payment
- What it includes: the premium sections of the Legal English TR mobile app
- Where it is available: the mobile app
- Term: renews automatically for the chosen period (1 month / 1 year) until cancelled (see Article 10)
- Free trial: 7 (seven) days, on the yearly plan only. Nothing is charged if the subscription is cancelled before the trial ends; otherwise the yearly price is charged when the trial ends and the subscription starts
- Automatic collection: the card is stored by the payment institution so that renewals can be charged; the Buyer gives separate consent to this at checkout by ticking the box "I consent to my card details being stored by the payment institution and the subscription fee being charged automatically at the start of each period. I can cancel the subscription from my account at any time."
What these products are not: they do not include live classes. There is no class schedule, no fixed lesson time, no term, no attendance requirement, no one-to-one tutoring and no make-up lesson. The video lessons are pre-recorded and can be watched whenever the Buyer chooses.
Prices are in Turkish lira and include VAT. The Seller may change prices with effect for the future; a change never affects orders already placed.
Article 4 — Pre-Contractual Information and Formation
Before completing an order the Buyer confirms having read and understood: the identity of the Seller, the essential characteristics of the product, the total price including VAT, how payment and delivery work, the right of withdrawal and the circumstances in which it does not apply, and the bodies to which a complaint may be brought.
The agreement is formed electronically when the Buyer ticks the confirmation boxes at checkout, completes payment, and the payment is approved by the bank. A copy of the agreement and the order summary is emailed to the Buyer and remains available in their account.
The Buyer confirms being at least 18 years old and having legal capacity. Anyone under 18 may order only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
Article 5 — Payment
Payments are made by credit or debit card through the secure payment infrastructure provided by iyzico (a payment institution authorised under Turkish Law No. 6493) or our partner bank. Bank transfer is not currently accepted.
- Card details are entered directly into the payment provider's system. They are never passed to, seen by, or stored by the Seller.
- One-time products are charged in full at the moment of purchase. Any instalment option depends on the Buyer's bank and is shown at checkout where available.
- For the subscription, the monthly fee is charged automatically at the start of each period under the recurring payment authorisation given by the Buyer.
- If a payment is declined or reversed by the bank, the Seller has no obligation to deliver.
- The amount charged is always read from the Seller's server-side product record; a price displayed incorrectly in the browser does not bind the charge.
Article 6 — Delivery of the Digital Content
These products are digital content performed immediately in an electronic environment. Access is granted to the Buyer's account as soon as payment is approved; if a technical problem delays this, it will not exceed 24 hours.
The Buyer is notified by email once access is open, and then reaches the product simply by signing in with the same credentials on the website or in the mobile app. No separate delivery step is required.
At checkout the Buyer requests that performance of the digital content begin immediately. What that means for the right of withdrawal is explained in Article 9.
Article 7 — Access Period and Usage Limits
- Access to the training set runs for 1 (one) year (365 days) from the date of purchase. When it expires, the video lessons, the study document, the dictionary and the premium sections of the mobile app close.
- The video lessons cannot be downloaded. They stream over an internet connection on the website and in the mobile app only.
- One account may stream on only one screen at a time. Starting playback on a second device may end the session on the first.
- An account is personal. Sharing credentials, letting more than one person use the account, or transferring access is not permitted.
- Access to the PDF dictionary (viewing and downloading) also runs for 1 (one) year (365 days) from the date of purchase. The dictionary is for the Buyer's personal use; it may not be copied or distributed.
- The Buyer is responsible for having an internet connection and a suitable device with a current browser or mobile operating system. The Seller is not liable for problems originating from the Buyer's own device or connection.
Article 8 — Right of Withdrawal
As a general rule the Buyer may withdraw from this agreement within 14 (fourteen) days of it being formed, without giving any reason and without paying any penalty.
To withdraw:
- Send an email to info@legalenglishtr.com within the 14-day period. No particular form is required.
- It is enough to state your name, your order number and that you wish to withdraw.
- The amount paid is refunded within 14 days of your notice reaching us, by the same method you used to pay and at no cost to you. How quickly it appears on your statement depends on your bank and can take a few working days.
The right of withdrawal does not apply in the situation described in Article 9. That is the single most important provision here for your rights, so please read it carefully.
Article 9 — Exception to the Right of Withdrawal and the Buyer's Declaration
Under the Distance Contracts Regulation, contracts for services performed instantly in an electronic environment and for intangible goods delivered instantly to the consumer are excluded from the right of withdrawal. Every product sold under this agreement is of that kind.
That exception applies only where the consumer gives separate, express consent at the moment of purchase. The Seller therefore collects the following declaration at checkout through a checkbox separate from the acceptance of the documents, and an order cannot be completed without it:
"I ask for delivery of the digital content to begin immediately with my consent, and I understand that my right of withdrawal ends when it does."
The pre-contractual information form, this Agreement and the Refund Policy are accepted through a separate checkbox in the same step. For subscription products, consent to the card being stored and charged automatically is collected separately through the checkbox described in Article 3.
The date, time and IP address of this consent are recorded electronically and provided to the Buyer on request.
9.1. When the right of withdrawal ends
Once the Buyer has given that declaration and then accessed the digital content — started any video lesson, downloaded the study document or the PDF dictionary, or opened a premium section in the mobile app — performance has begun and the right of withdrawal ends. The content need not have been used in full; partial access is still the start of performance.
9.2. If the content has never been accessed
Beyond what the law requires, the Seller undertakes the following as a commercial commitment: if you apply within 14 days of purchase and have never accessed the product — no video started, no file downloaded, no premium section opened in the app — the withdrawal request is accepted and the full amount is refunded.
Whether access has occurred is established from the system records attached to the account. The Buyer agrees that these records are used to determine whether performance has begun.
9.3. For the subscription
In the Premium App subscription each billing period (monthly or yearly) counts as a separate period of performance. If no premium section was accessed in the first period, section 9.2 applies. For later periods, the Buyer's principal protection is the ability to cancel at any time (see Article 10).
Article 10 — Renewal and Cancellation of the Subscription
- The subscription product — the Premium App Subscription, in monthly or yearly periods as chosen — renews automatically at the end of each period, charged under the recurring payment authorisation given by the Buyer.
- The yearly Premium App plan starts with a 7 (seven) day free trial. Nothing is charged if the subscription is cancelled during the trial; otherwise the yearly price is charged when the trial ends and the first period starts that day.
- The Buyer may cancel at any time from the subscription section of their account, or by emailing info@legalenglishtr.com. No reason need be given.
- After cancellation, access continues to the end of the period already paid for. Access then closes and nothing further is charged.
- No partial refund is given for the current period, because the service continues to be supplied until that period ends. This does not affect the never-accessed first period covered by section 9.2, nor the defective-performance situations in Article 11.
- Any change to the subscription price is notified by email at least 30 days in advance. A Buyer who does not accept the new price may cancel before it takes effect; otherwise the new price applies from the following period.
- The one-year premium app access included in the training set is not a subscription: it is not charged separately and does not renew automatically when it expires.
Article 11 — Defective Performance and Failure to Supply
The end of the withdrawal period does not affect the Buyer's statutory rights under Law No. 6502 in respect of defective services.
- Access not working: if the product is unavailable for reasons attributable to the Seller, report it and the Seller will fix it within a reasonable time. The access period is extended free of charge by the length of the outage.
- If it cannot be fixed: where access cannot be restored within a reasonable time, the Buyer may terminate and claim a refund, or ask for a reduction in price.
- Service discontinued: if the Seller stops offering a purchased product before its access period ends, a refund proportionate to the remaining period is made.
- Content materially short of what was described: where the content supplied falls materially short of the essential characteristics stated on the sales page, the Buyer may exercise the statutory remedies for defective services.
- Duplicate charges: where a technical fault causes the same product to be charged more than once, the excess is refunded within 14 days of it being identified.
The refund process is set out in full in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Article 12 — Intellectual Property and Prohibited Use
The video lessons, study document, dictionary, mobile app content and all site content are protected under Turkish Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works and belong to the Seller or its licensors. The Buyer receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable right of access for personal, non-commercial use only.
The Buyer may not:
- Record, screenshot or screen-capture the content
- Share, publish or resell the content to third parties
- Let anyone else use the account, or transfer access
- Use the content commercially, including for in-house training
- Attempt to circumvent access restrictions by technical means
Where these obligations are breached, the Seller reserves the right to suspend or close the account and to claim compensation for its losses. No refund is given where an account is closed on this ground.
Article 13 — Protection of Personal Data
The Buyer's personal data is processed under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and our Privacy Policy. Payment data is processed by our payment service provider; card details are never seen or stored by the Seller.
Article 14 — Force Majeure
Neither party is in default while prevented from performing by events beyond its control and reasonable foresight — natural disaster, epidemic, war, cyber-attack, a large-scale outage at an infrastructure provider, or an order of a public authority. If such an event lasts more than 30 days either party may terminate, and the Buyer is refunded the amount corresponding to the service not yet supplied.
Article 15 — Evidential Value of Records
The parties agree that, in the event of a dispute, the Seller's system and server logs, order and access records, email correspondence and the payment provider's records constitute binding and conclusive evidence within the meaning of Article 193 of Turkish Civil Procedure Law No. 6100. This does not remove the consumer's right to submit evidence to the contrary.
Article 16 — Dispute Resolution
Please raise any complaint first with us at info@legalenglishtr.com; we respond within two working days.
For disputes that cannot be settled, the Consumer Arbitration Committees at the Buyer's place of residence or where the transaction took place have jurisdiction up to the monetary thresholds announced each year by the Turkish Ministry of Trade, and the Consumer Courts above those thresholds. Where there is no Consumer Court, the Civil Courts of First Instance have jurisdiction.
This agreement is governed by Turkish law. The Buyer's mandatory rights as a consumer are reserved.
Article 17 — Entry into Force
This agreement, consisting of 17 articles, takes effect when the Buyer reads and approves it electronically and completes payment. A copy is emailed to the Buyer and kept in their account.
