Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the website at https://legalenglishtr.com and the Legal English TR mobile app (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Platform.

Purchases are also governed by the Distance Sales Agreement and the Refund and Cancellation Policy; personal data by the Privacy Policy. On any question about a purchase, the Distance Sales Agreement prevails over these terms.

Legal English TR produces legal English learning material for lawyers and law students. The following products are sold on the Platform:

• Legal English Training Set (TRY 11,990, one-time payment): pre-recorded video lessons, premium access in the mobile app, the study document and the PDF dictionary. Access, including the dictionary, runs for one year (365 days) from purchase.
• Premium App Subscription (TRY 349.99 per month or TRY 1,999.99 per year): the premium sections of the mobile app. Renews for the chosen period; 7-day free trial on the yearly plan.

What is not included: the Platform has no live classes. There is no lesson schedule, no fixed class time, no term, no attendance requirement, no one-to-one tutoring and no make-up lesson. The video lessons are pre-recorded and you watch them whenever you like.

No particular English level is required to start. A certificate of participation is issued on completion; it is not a qualification or an equivalence certificate.

• You need an account to buy and to reach the content. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give.
• An account is personal and non-transferable. Keeping your password confidential is your responsibility, and you are accountable for activity carried out through your account.
• Tell us at info@legalenglishtr.com straight away if you think your account has been used without your permission.
• If you are under 18, you may use the Platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
• You can delete your account under My Account → Account & security, or ask us to close it by writing to info@legalenglishtr.com. Closing an account does not create a right to a refund for content already purchased and opened.

• Payments go through iyzico (a payment institution authorised under Turkish Law No. 6493) or our partner bank by credit or debit card. We never see or store your card details. Bank transfer is not currently accepted.
• The amount charged is always read from the server-side product record; a price displayed incorrectly on screen does not bind the charge.
• Prices include VAT and may change with effect for the future. A change never affects orders already placed.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the chosen period (monthly or yearly); the yearly Premium App plan has a 7-day free trial and is charged when the trial ends unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. After cancelling, access continues to the end of the period you paid for.
• For withdrawal and refunds see the Refund and Cancellation Policy. For digital content, the right of withdrawal ends once performance begins.

• The video lessons cannot be downloaded. They stream over an internet connection on the website and in the mobile app only.
• One account may stream on only one screen at a time. Starting playback on a second device may end the session on the first.
• Access to the PDF dictionary (viewing and downloading) runs for one year (365 days) from purchase. The dictionary is for your personal use; it may not be copied or distributed.
• Access to the training set runs for one year (365 days) from purchase. When it expires, the video lessons, the study document and the dictionary close.
• You need an internet connection and a suitable device with a current browser or mobile operating system. We are not responsible for problems originating from your own device or connection.
• We carry out planned maintenance from time to time, announced in advance where possible and scheduled for quiet hours.

The video lessons, study document, dictionary, text, images, design, logo and software on the Platform are protected under Turkish Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works and related legislation, and belong to Legal English TR or its licensors.

Buying gives you no ownership — only a non-exclusive, non-transferable right of access for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

• Record, screenshot or screen-capture the content
• Share, publish, upload or resell it
• Let anyone else use your account, or transfer your access
• Use it commercially, including for in-house training
• Create derivative works from it, or publish translations, summaries or compilations without permission
• Attempt to circumvent DRM, access restrictions or concurrent-session limits
• Harvest it with automated tools (bots, crawlers, scrapers) or use it to train AI models

Short quotations for review or commentary are permitted with attribution, to the extent the law allows.

When using the Platform, you agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe anyone else's rights
• Compromise the Platform's security — attempting unauthorised access, uploading malicious code, or overloading the system to disrupt access
• Try to reach another user's account or impersonate them
• Post abusive, threatening, discriminatory or misleading material in comments, messages or support channels
• Attempt fraudulent transactions or bad-faith refund claims
• Advertise or promote anything through the Platform without our permission

Everything on the Platform is educational material for learning legal English. The sample clauses, drafting patterns, term explanations and other content exist to teach language; they are not legal opinion, legal advice or a legal service.

We are not responsible for the consequences of applying the content to a real matter. For an actual legal question, consult a qualified lawyer. Because legal systems differ, an English term explained here may not carry exactly the same meaning under every jurisdiction's law.

Completing the course does not guarantee that you will reach a particular level of English or pass any particular examination; what you learn depends on the work you put in.

We rely on these providers to run the Platform: Supabase (accounts and data hosting), iyzico Ödeme Hizmetleri A.Ş. (payments), Resend (email delivery) and Bunny Stream (video hosting and streaming). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services.

The Platform may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.

The mobile app is distributed under the rules of the relevant app store (App Store / Google Play), whose terms also apply to transactions made through the store.

We take reasonable care to keep the Platform running without interruption or error, but given the nature of the internet, uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.

• We are not responsible for problems originating from your own device, browser or connection.
• For large-scale outages at our hosting, payment or video providers, our liability is limited to extending your access period by the length of the outage.
• We are not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business or loss of data.
• In any event, our total liability cannot exceed what you paid for the product concerned.

None of this limits liability for our intent or gross negligence, nor your mandatory rights as a consumer under Law No. 6502.

We may suspend or close your account if these terms are breached, particularly sections 5, 6 and 7. Where the nature of the breach allows, we warn you first and give you a reasonable opportunity to put it right.

• Where content is shared or copied without permission, or an account is used by more than one person, access may be stopped immediately and no refund is given.
• Where a payment is charged back by the bank, access to that product stops.
• You may ask us to close your account at any time; that does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid.
• Sections 6 (intellectual property) and 10 (liability) survive termination.

We may update these Terms of Use to reflect changes in the law or in the service. An updated version takes effect when published on this page, and the "Last updated" date changes. Where a change is materially to your disadvantage, we notify you in advance by email. Continuing to use the Platform after that notice means you accept the new terms. Products you have already bought remain governed by the sales terms in force at the time of purchase.

Your personal data is processed under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we process, why, how long we keep it, which third parties receive it, and how to exercise your rights.

These terms are governed by Turkish law. For consumer disputes, the Consumer Arbitration Committees have jurisdiction up to the monetary thresholds announced each year by the Turkish Ministry of Trade, and the Consumer Courts above them. For disputes with users who are not consumers, the Istanbul (Çağlayan) Courts and Execution Offices have jurisdiction.
